Breds seeks volunteers to build ropes course for youth leadership
Published: 2013-05-24Breds the Treasure Beach Foundation, a community based non profit formed in 1998 is looking for some good volunteers.
During June 20-30th 2013 Breds working with the members of the Jamaica Defense Force (Army) to construct a low and high ropes challenge course at the Treasure Beach Sports Park & Academy and needs some extra hands.
"We see this is an opportunity for persons to engage in a program that will have huge positive impact for youth across Jamaica".
Partners and sponsors of this program include the engineering corps of the Jamaica Defense Force, UNICEF, Jamaica Power Company (JPS), Orstrom Foundation, Rise Life, Seeds of Peace and Breds.
Ropes courses are proven to take persons out of their comfort zone and enhance team building, communication skills and approach to problem solving. We are expecting persons who are 'early to bed and early to rise' and who are willing to take instructions and work as a team.
On the evening of June 29th there will be an appreciation party where all volunteers will receive a certificate of participation and Sunday June 30th will be Sports festival at the Sports Park including a cricket between the Jamaica Defense Force and Treasure Beach Pirates followed by a match between two premier league teams, Waterhouse and Portmore United.
