Canadian Couple Shares Their Love Raising Funds for the Community Playground!
Published: 2011-02-23Laura Cousineau and Chris Ince are getting married in Treasure Beach mid-May of this year and Laura recently visited Jake's to finalize her wedding plans there. When it came down to organizing a wedding gift registry, the couple decided to make a non-traditional choice and forgo presents, in favour of cooperating in a project (led by Laura Henzell) to raise funds for playground equipment for the BREDS Treasure Beach Foundation Sports Park.
Chris owns and manages U.N.I Training, a personal training facility in Montreal, Canada, through his company “Roots Fitness”. http://unitraining.ca/
Laura works part-time with U.N.I as a Pilate's instructor and personal trainer, while pursuing a career as a professional dancer, choreographer and dance instructor.
Together, they are ardent supporters of health and fitness programmes for all age groups, so facilitating improvements at the Sports Park is a project close to their hearts. They have publicized the project to their guests through their wedding site and will organize some additional activities through U.N.I. in Montreal to promote family fitness and donations to this worthy cause, dubbing it: "U.N.I. Play by Roots Fitness": A Fund-raising Drive to Buy Playground Equipment for the BREDS Treasure Beach Foundation Sports Park
"When you put something out to the Universe -- you never know what can happen!" exclaimed an excited Laura Henzell, Director of Breds. "A few weeks ago we raised $200 at an impromptu wine tasting for the playground and now this great news from Laura and Chris -- their generosity of spirit is overwhelming... this could really be the tipping point that gets this project off the ground!"
Chris and Laura both feel a great attachment to Jamaica in general and Treasure Beach in particular, having vacationed here as well as participated in Jake's Off-Road Triathlon. So now they can look forward to returning together regularly to see the Sports Park and progress of BREDS' great initiatives to build a healthier and happier community, through their many outreach programmes.
